2014 Spirited Awards Winners

Last year our fair city swept the Spirited Awards, the Oscars of the cocktail world held annually on the final night of Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans. This year, it was London’s turn. Specifically, that of the Artesian Bar at the Langham Hotel, which took home four awards including World’s Best Bar and Best International Bar Team. Overall, in fact, the awards spanned a much more diverse geography than in past years with US winners hailing from San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver and Portland, OR as well as from NYC. Which we think is pretty exciting for all of you out there who love cocktails like we do. Gone are the days when leaving the Lower East Side meant settling for sub-par beverages. Now, whether you’re on the Upper West Side, the West Coast, or even in Singapore, high quality cocktails are yours for the taking.

In addition to honoring great bars and bartenders, the Spirited Awards recognize great products and writing as well.  This year Del Maguey won Best New Product for their Iberico Mezcal and Jeff Berry won for best Cocktail Book with his tiki guide Beachbum Berry’s Potions of the Caribbean.

Here’s a handy map of the 2014 Spirited Awards Winners to help you plan your next bibulous trip:
