Boozy Father’s Day Gifts

Looking for the perfect gift for Dad? Here are our top picks for the man who loves cocktails this Father’s Day:

1. Vosges Haut Chocolat Mash Bill Collection, Four Roses Bourbon & Templeton Rye

This amazing chocolatier has created a special collection of truffles featuring delicious spirits like Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon and Templeton Rye. Flavors include rye with dark cherry, tobacco and dark chocolate and bourbon with toasted pecans and milk chocolate. Sound like heaven? It is. True Nirvana can be reached by pairing the chocolates with the spirits they’re made from. In fact, you should probably buy two boxes, one for yourself and one for Dad… Order chocolate here and head to your local liquor store for the real booze.

2. Spiced Old Fashioned & Smoky Hops Cocktail Mixers

The guys over at Cocktail Crate have put together a great 2-pack of their “manliest” flavors for Father’s Day. $20 gets you a 375ml bottle of each, ready for you/Dad to add whiskey and ice. Order by June 5 to guarantee delivery in time for the big day.

3. Homemade Aged Cocktail

Take your homemade gifting skills up a notch by making Dad an aged cocktail. Barrel aged cocktails have become very de rigueur, and they are also a handy way to always have your favorite cocktail on hand, no mixing required. Tuthilltown Spirits sells these great Barrel Aged Cocktail Kits that include a charred oak stave in a 375ml glass bottle, so you don’t have to worry about overoaking your cocktail (just remove the stave after 7-10 days, or to your taste). PSA: Don’t use citrus, eggs, dairy or other perishable items in aged cocktails. Spirituous cocktails like Manhattans, Negronis and all their variations are great choices. I’m partial to the Vieux Carre, which you can read more about over on my personal blog.

4.  Anything from the Cocktail Kingdom Copper Collection

We love Cocktail Kingdom’s classy barware – especially when it’s copper plated. Add some bling to Papa’s bar with these super chic shakers, Moscow Mule mugs, Julep cups, strainers, jiggers and more. More of a silver or gold man? They’ve got those too. Check out Cocktail Kingdom’s Copper Collection.

5. The Old Fashioned by Robert Simonson

Last but certainly not least, for the bookworm father, grab a copy of Robert Simonson’s (booze writer for the NY Times) The Old-Fashioned: The Story of the World’s First Classic Cocktail, with Recipes and Lore. This new book takes a look at the varied history of the iconic drink, including 40 recipes from classic to twist to contemporary, not to mention visually stunning photographs. Get it here.

Editor’s Note: Dipsology did not receive any payment for favorable mentions or inclusions of the above products. We did receive a free sample of the Vosges Haut Chocolat Mash Bill Collection with whiskies. We only include items we truly believe to be superior and delicious, and we hope you enjoy them!
