Evelyn

Evelyn is one of the recent additions to the growing cocktail scene in Alphabet City serving up a range of innovative & classic cocktails.  Owners Jared, Christian & Justin make many of their own syrups, inclusions and bitters – one of our favs is their coffee-inclusion tequila, best done as a shot topped off with Meletti, an Italian amaro.  The scene is decidedly low key, and there’s something for everyone – you can get a classic daiquiri, a house creation, bourbon neat, or shots and beers. Cozy up with a date in the more intimate second room, or bring a group and hang out at the bar.

Who: Group of friends for a casual night of drinking.  A great spot for mixed crowds who want cocktails as well as beers & shots.

What: Right now they have a special called the Supertide for $11 with 1/2 of sales benefitting Sandy Relief on the LES

When: It’s one of our favs for a late night drink, or you can start out the night on a mellower note

Pro tip: Ask for the coffee-infused tequila shot with Amaro Meletti and see if you can convince co-owner Christian Sanders to make you one of his adult egg creams

Good for: Low key date – Casual drinks – Fun for singles – Groups – Late night – Party Scene

The guys from Evelyn also participated at our holiday party on 12/12/12, where they mixed up some awesome ‘nog and rum punch.

Due to Sandy damage, Evelyn is currently working with a somewhat abridged menu, but look to see some cool, crazy things – phosphate soda anyone? – pop up in the months to come.  You can help that happen more quickly by drinking there now, and/or giving money on their Go Fund Me page.
