Maison Premiere

Continuing the trend of oysters and cocktails – the two best things in life – Maison Premiere features 30 different varieties of the mollusks plus the largest collection of absinthe in New York City AND an absinthe fountain (that serves water).  The describe themselves as, “inspired by hotel lobbies of days gone by, afternoons in Paris cafes, late night dinners over bivalves and wading through glasses of pastis and absinthe” – which all sounds pretty good to us.  A garden in the back welcomes you in the summer, and the menu also features a full selection of cocktails, juleps, beer and wine.

Who: Friends, a date.  For some reason I have seen people here with their parents, but I’m not sure I recommend that.

What: Check out the dedicated absinthe menu and go for the classic – with sugar, ice and water – or one of their cocktails, like the Maison Absinthe Colada or one of their julep variations.

When: Monday – Friday 4-7pm, for $1 oysters

Pro tip: See above

Good for: Cocktails & Oysters  – Happy hour – Casual drinks – Weekend day drinking – Low key date – Boozy brunch – Outdoor seating

Reservations: Accepted only for groups of 8-14 in the garden
Max Group Size: N/A
Food: Raw bar   |   Wine: Yes   |   Beer: Yes
