The Beagle is as sexy a little bar as you’ll find in New York.  Located on Avenue A and 10th Street, it’s all dark blue and wood, with cozy banquettes and a gleaming wall of white tile behind the bar.  Bar Manager and co-owner Dan Greenbaum has a penchant for sherry, which figures prominently in a number of cocktails on their seasonally rotating menu, and the bar boasts one of the largest selections of it in the city.  They even have a cunning little chart explaining all the different types of sherry to help you choose.  The cocktail menu is divided into three sections: served up, tall and on the rocks, and features original creations along with twists on classics.  Add in their yummy bar snacks & rotating burger menu, and you’ve got yourself one of our favorite bars in town.

Who: A romantic date, or group of friends.  It’s one of those great spaces that can be intimate for a hot date, but not so stuffy it’s not also fun for a group.

What: Something with sherry, duh.

When: We go here all the time. Early evening, late night, Monday nights or Saturday. Happy Hour is Sunday-Thursday 6-7pm, cocktails $10 and sherry 1/2 off!

Pro tip: Make sure you sample some of head bartender Tom Richter’s Tomr’s Tonic – we recommend it in what will be the best gin & tonic of your life.  Seriously.
