The Monarch Room

The Monarch Room gives a great first impression because the space is stunning. This is the place you can take out of town friends to impress them. While we definitely think you’ll want to sit down for a full dinner – the menu was crafted by Michael Citarella, formerly of Freemans – we’re pretty keen on the bar scene. And who can blame us? Christian Sanders of Evelyn created the cocktail menu and it wows. There’s something for everyone from variations on classic cocktails like the Negroni and Manhattan and a lot of great originals. To be honest, we can’t actually pick a favorite. Have a look at the full cocktail menu here and you’ll see what we mean. While the cocktail prices are a bit on the higher side at $16/$17, we definitely don’t think it’s unreasonable. This isn’t a beer and shot bar. You are paying for that expertly crafted cocktail, the beautiful glass it’s in and the overall swank. Yes, it’s time to live a little of the grand NYC lifestyle!

Pro tip: Unlike many restaurants bars in the city, The Monarch Room’s bar area is quite spacious. So feel free to take a seat at the bar and enjoy some oysters, razor clams and gnocchi all while sipping on delicious cocktails. It’s also a great place to people watch.
