The Wayland

Located right across the street from Summit Bar on Avenue C, The Wayland’s website describes it as “a small bar in the East Village” and it’s a solid choice for dinner and/or later night drinks.  The menu changes on a weekly basis, rotating seasonally-inspired drinks like the summery After-Hours Jam, which includes apricot jam and bourbon, and one offering on tap – currently the San Fran Spout, with Fernet Branca and housemade cola.  They recently expanded their kitchen and now offer a full dinner menu at the rustic wooden tables that fill half the bar.  On weekend nights it’s packed after 10pm, and there are good tunes and a fun scene that last til the wee hours of the morning.

Good for: Casual drinks – Drinks plus dinner – Fun for singles – Groups – Late night party scene – Low key date – Live music
